Fused Glass Workshop For Children.
The basic idea behind fused glass is that beautiful art objects can be created by melting glass in a kiln.
Contemporary fusing methods involve stacking layering thin sheets of glass often using different colors to create patterns or simple images.
Workshop Content
A variety of projects can be done. The project selected depends on the age and size of the group, and individual preference.
The selection will be made ahead of time to facilitate preparation.
Each child will complete a project. A second project may be done, if time allows.
List of project options:
- Picture frame
- Jewellery
- Window ornament
- Ornament (ex. Inuksuk)
- Small Dish
Duration: 2 hours For their birthday party, children can have their own private Fused Glass workshop.
The time recommended is from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm but the workshop can be scheduled at another mutually convenient time.
Group size:
4 to 8 participants
Cost: $20.00 per participant
Includes: instruction, supplies, materials, equipment and kiln firing
The creation will be ready for pick up one week after the workshop.
Parents do not need to stay.
For safety reasons, no food is allowed in the studio, only drinks in individual bottles. Covered shoes should be worn in the studio.
Please advise your guests: strictly no sandals.
