I was born in Lac-St-Jean, Quebec, and grew up in a vibrant French-Canadian family. I recall a curiosity for the arts from an early age. Over time, creation became a passion that has been a constant in my life.
My college and university education in fine arts together with psychology and sociology studies have allowed me to discover and broaden my artistic expression abilities. I have developed, implemented and taught an art program. I have also participated in various exhibits and theatrical events. My first artistic passion was for painting and a variety of two-dimensional artwork. My interest for 3 dimensional art forms led me to functional arts. At first, I did stained glass and I was later introduced to fused glass techniques. I worked at a studio in North Vancouver, B.C. for a year before moving to Ontario in the Fall of 2007.
The purpose of my creation is to bring a functional object to become a unique artistic creation. Color, texture, and transparency are fundamentally taken into consideration in the process of designing each individual piece. Being able to deliver harmony between functionality and elegance in each object is fuelling my passion.
The breadth of glass techniques and its multiple possibilities keeps the challenge fresh and the passion alive for glass art.
Glass a hard yet fragile medium – makes it most interesting to work with.
My guests are not only invited to look at my artwork but also to touch it and see the light shine through it!
Additional Information
I enjoy exploring various art forms involving glass; while my specialty is fused glass, I'm exploring and combining other techniques such as stained and etched glass.
